Users — Overview
Purpose
This document provides an overview of user participation within the Maker Empower / Motika.IO ecosystem and defines how users accrue off-chain rewards that can be converted into on-chain MPOW tokens.
Definitions
- User: Any individual consuming content through Motika.IO or connected properties.
- Active Time: Time during which a user is actively engaged with visible content.
- Reward Units: Internal off-chain accounting units tied to Active Time.
- MPOW Token: On-chain ERC-20 token minted only when a user claims rewards to a wallet.
System Overview
Users earn Reward Units by consuming content in the Motika.IO app or on integrated sites. Reward Units exist only inside the Motika.IO backend and are not blockchain transactions.
When a user decides to withdraw, a subset of accumulated Reward Units is converted into real MPOW tokens, which are minted on-chain and transferred to the user’s wallet.
Core Processes
- Detection of Active Time
- Accumulation of Reward Units (off-chain)
- User-initiated claim request
- Minting of MPOW tokens on-chain
- Transfer of tokens to the user’s wallet
